LOGISTICS HUB AND GENEDIS HEADQUARTERS IN FULLY

Fully is a small village between Martigny and Sion, in the heart of the canton Valais in Switzerland. The region is worldwide famous for its unique alpine landscape; it is also an education and cultural hub, and an industrial and administrative cluster. Genedis - a local leader in energy and communications – plans to build in Fully its new headquarters: a multifunctional building comprising the company offices and logistics facilities (warehouses, storage areas, trucks and professional vehicles parking areas). The project site is located in Fully new business park, a territory still defined by the agricultural grid. The site is framed by the Alps, with the Grand Chavalard peak on the north. Our project, with its large horizontal roof, creates an opposition with this vertical landscape, and is therefore immediately visible from the Autoroute du Rhône. The canopy shelters the two main functional units constituting Genedis headquarters: the administration unit (shared and coworking spaces, management offices), and the operation unit (warehouses, storage, operation offices and trucks parking area). Its diimension will allow the building of a future extension. Under the canopy, a regular grid defines the spaces and the layout: the offices and visitors area on the north side, along the public access road with a view towards the mountains, the operation areas on the south, towards the Rhône. The core of the building is dedicated to the technical rooms and the horizontal and vertical connections. This very simple, and modular structure makes the building versatile and flexible, and grants its long-term functionality. The large canopy is also a photovoltaic solar power station. It produces the equivalent of the annual average requirements of 100 households. The produced energy will mainly be used on site, and the exceeding part can be reinjected in the public network. The heat pumps will use water from the Rhône groundwater and will operate using solar electricity produced directly on site. The building rigorous functional layout, its flexibility and its energy autonomy embody Genedis ambition to be a major player in the environmental transition.
